Gear Review | Keep Nature Wild’s Eco Friendly Dog Gear Made Of Recycled Materials

Living in a campervan and traveling for two years with your dog is an incredible adventure that undoubtedly requires a lot of preparation and thoughtful consideration. As a responsible pet owner, finding high-quality, eco-friendly products and gear for your furry friend is a top priority. Not only do you want to ensure that your dog is comfortable and happy, but you also want to minimize your impact on the environment.

Sustainability and environmental impact are always on our minds while traveling. Getting to live the vanlife enables us to travel to some pretty amazing locations, locations that we want to make sure are there for the next traveler. Part of traveling in a sustainable manner is making sure we use good high, quality gear that is going to last us for years to come. We don’t want to be having to replace clothes, gear, or anything else sooner than we should.

When traveling with pets, their gear is just as important as ours. We want to make sure they are safe and comfortable. That we have what we need to that our pets can enjoy our travels just as much as we do. So when we learned that one of our favorite clothing brands, Keep Nature Wild, also makes pet products, we knew we had to try them out.

In comes the Keep Nature Wild Dog Gear Bundle. The bundle comes with an eco-friendly pet collar, leash, and stylish bandana. We also went ahead and picked up their doggie bag holder, as picking us after your pets is an important part of leaving no trace.

Our Experience With The Keep Nature Wild Eco Dog Gear Bundle

The dog gear bundle comes with a six foot leash

We have been putting the Keep Nature Wild dog gear bundle to the test over the past few weeks, and so far, we’ve loved it. The eco dog collar is well made and has held up great, even with roughhousing and swimming. The leash feels strong and well-made, and we believe it should last at least a few years before having a sort of stretch. The inside of the eco-friendly dog leash has comfortable padding, so your hands are not rubbing on the webbing while out on walks.

KNW doggie bag holder

In addition to trying out the eco-friendly dog gear bundle, we also got the Keep Nature Wild doggie bag holder. It is by far the best quality doggie bag holder we’ve had and has held up great so far. The Eco-Friendly bag holder comes with two carabiners to attach to your dog’s leash or to a belt buckle. We found having two carabiners to be a bit strange at first, as the second one kept getting in the way. After a few days of use, though, we learned we can use the two carabiner setup to secure the leash to itself when wrapped around a pole or bench.

This worked great for us when sitting outside eating or just relaxing at a park. Although if your dog has a tendency to lunge, we wouldn’t recommend this as we’re not sure if the baggie holder is able to withstand the force of a larger dog pulling against it.

We’ve been using both the Dog Gear Bundle along with the baggie holder for a few weeks now, and everything is still looking and feeling brand new.

Sustainability

Trash is something that everyone who travels in a campervan, RV, bus conversion, or tent camping on the weekend knows and deals with all too much. Over the past few years of traveling in our campervan, there has only been a small handful of camp spots we’ve stayed at where there wasn’t trash all over the place. We make it a point to always do our best to clean up any trash we come across and encourage others to do the same.

So we really appreciate Keep Nature Wilds’s commitment to cleaning up our public lands. For every item sold, they pick up 1lb of trash. This, along with their monthly organized cleanup days, has resulted in over  864,844 pounds of trash being cleaned up since 2013. On top of that, products like the Dog Gear Bundle are made of recycled plastic called rPET, making it a truly eco friendly dog brand.

TL;DR

Overall, I would highly recommend the Keep Nature Wild dog gear bundle to fellow vanlifers or really anyone who wants sustainable and practical gear for their furry travel companions. The gear is durable and designed with the active dog in mind. Plus, with Keep Nature Wild’s commitment to sustainability and cleaning up our planet, you can feel good about your purchase knowing that you’re supporting a company that’s making a positive impact.
